Formerly part of an estate called TABLE ROCK which was built for William Pierson Hamilton and his wife Juliet Pierpont Morgan, the daughter of the great financier J. Pierpont Morgan. William was the great-grandson of Alexander Hamilton, the US Statesman and the first Secretary of the Treasury. This property is rich in history and detail and features 52 rooms almost all with fireplaces you can stand in. The floating staircase winds up from the foyer featuring sculptures of the couples 6 childrens faces. The large gallery measures approx. 83x22. At the east end of the room is a large Norman-style fireplace. The walls and floor are oak, while the ceiling is elaborately sculptured plaster. There is an enclosed porch of equal length located along the south side of the gallery with views of Sheppards Pond. The chapel and library are rich with detail all hand carved.
